We are delighted to have Kieran and the Team at Rohan Transport sponsoring the Shuttle bus that will run to and from the town to the showgrounds.
The free bus will leave from both The Gap House and The Grand Hotel every half hour, giving you a sustainable mode of transport to arrive to the show.
We were delighted to host the launch of our 183rd Annual Show on Thursday, the 23rd of July in The Grand Hotel, Moate.
On the night, a panel discussion was led by MJ Clearly, presenter of 'Country Life' on local radio station, Midlands 103.
MJ spoke to Reggie Mitchell, Moate Show and National Vegetable Society of Ireland (NVSI) member, about the upcoming National Championships being held in Moate, on its fourth occasion.
Cllr. Tom Farrell spoke to the gathering about the importance of community involvement and the help which department funding has had in developing shows throughout the country, especially that provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Sean Kilkenny, secretary of the Irish Angus Cattle Society spoke about the success of the inaugural Dunleavy Meats championships in 2025, thanking the title sponsors, and wishing the best of luck to all involved with the 183rd show, saying that the partnership between the Irish Angus society and Moate Show was ever-developing and that it would continue into the future.
Moate Show Committee member, Pairic McNeill, reflected on changes in the show over the past decades; from when the show was held mid-week to the postponement of show due to foot & mouth.
Bringing the launch to a close, Chairperson, Michael Scott, paid thanks to the sponsors and committee members for all of their work in bringing the show to fruition and wished everyone the very best for Sunday, 23rd of August.

Since the inauguration of the NVS Irish Championships at the 180th Moate Agricultural Show, we are looking forward to welcoming back all of the exhibitors who are vying for best in show at this years championships.

After the successful partnership built with the Irish Angus Society in 2025, we are delighted to once again host the Irish Angus Dunleavey Meats Bull Calf Championship Series; featuring 4x bull calf classes.
In addition, we are fortunate to also host the Irish Angus YDP All Ireland Junior Stockperson of the Year.
This class is open to stockpersons who must be aged 12 and under 17 on the 23/08/2026.
We would like to say a very big thank you to all those who turned up to a great night at our Table Quiz in the Grand Hotel Moate last night. It was great to see so many peoples, faces old and new, come together for our event and we hope you all had a lovely time.
After 8 tough rounds of questioning from Eileen Dunican, and a round of extra questions, we had joint-first winners. A hearty congratulations to them:
